He was born on November 24, 1936 in Isabella, TN. Bill retired from Dupont in 1989, after 39 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea from 1952 to 1954 and the Army Reserve for over 30 years. He received many medals, but the most important one was the Bronze Star. He was of the Methodist faith and was an avid golfer, having been a member of Creek’s Bend for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita “Skeeter” McNabb; his mother and father, Bernice and Luther McNabb; four sisters, Katherine Coleman, Helen McFarland, Jimmie Long and Betty McGee.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Ann McDaniel.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Evelyn Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. before the service on Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153.
