

Janie Sue (Nolen) Grimm died at 80 having spent her life loving and lifting up everyone in her path. She excelled as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. A gracious southern lady with a talent for making each person feel like the most important person in the room. She loved to garden, read, and serve others. A woman of endless faith in her Lord and her family, she set an example of how to live an ordinary life full of extraordinary impact.
Janie was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on 7/7/37 to parents, M.D. and Estelle Nolen (deceased), and married Charles W. Grimm, also of Montgomery, on 12/20/57. She was the middle child of five: Danny Nolen, Betty Hansen (deceased), Benny Nolen, and Joy Casteel.
Janie is survived by the loving family she and Charlie nurtured. Children include Pam Price (Tim) of Chattanooga, TN; Kelley Hamilton (Phil) of Atlanta, GA; and Craig Grimm (Kimberly) of Moore, SC. Grandchildren include Daniel Price (Bethany) and Elizabeth Derryberry (Tommy) of Chattanooga, and Haley and Phillip Hamilton of Atlanta. Great-grandchildren include Matthew and Sam Price and Charley Kate Derryberry.
Services will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Hwy. 153, Hixson, TN on Friday, 9/1/17. Visitation is 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a service following at 6:00 p.m.
