Jessie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harland James; parents, Jesse and Lennie Chastain; brothers, Vance Chastain, Grady Chastain; and sister, Eunice Kerr.
Survivors include her sons, Allen (Sharon) James, Tim (Nancy) James, and Rodney James; grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) James, Ryan (Jessica) James, Jodie (Kevin) Smith, Jessica (Alex) Hoover, Toby James, and Gina James; brothers, Marvin (Genevieve) Chastain, Curtis Chastain, Walter (Linda) Chastain, Ronnie (Linda) Chastain; sisters Faye (I.M.) Beard and Bernice (Eddie) Rogers; great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16th from 3-8 pm and Friday January 17th from 11 am -12 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. Funeral services will be Friday at 12pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
