

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Taylor Blair, J.B. Burkett, and Earl Marler Sr.; step-sons, Jim Burkett and Tommy Burkett; step-daughter, Billy Ally; brothers, Benton Caldwell Bilbrey (Louise), Hollis Bilbrey (Louise) and Herbert Bilbrey (Jessie); sisters, Gladys Bilbrey Ferguson (William R.) and Jeanelle Bilbrey Chanda (Joe); parents, Gaither Bilbrey and Lily Caldwell Bilbrey; and longtime close friends, Jim Mooring and J.J. Clifft.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorris Blair-Hall McBride (the late Sam W.) of Chattanooga; sister, Jeanne Bilbrey Owens; step-daughters, Norma Jean Burkett Henry, Bobbie Jewell Burkett, Edna Jean Marler Rogers (Roy) of Sevierville; step-son, Earl Marler Jr. (Carol) of Ringgold, GA; grandsons, James Blair Hall, Jeffrey H. Hall (Julia), Jeremy T. Hall (Chris Leach), Jacob P. Hall; great grandsons, Max Hall, Mitchell Hall, Zach Hall; great granddaughter, Emma Hall; and other step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Marler was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1937. She received several certificates from the American School of Banking. She retired from First Tennessee Bank (formerly Hamilton National Bank) as assistant cashier in new business and Ross Meehan as a secretary. The remainder of her life she was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and companion.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm Saturday, October 26th at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, October 28th at Greenwood Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Officiating will be Minister David Schonhoff of Central Church of Christ and her nephew, Minister Johnny Owens of Manchester Park Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery family plot. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Marler’s grandsons and nephews.
The family would like to thank Michelle Strickland, owner/operator of God’s Helping Hands For The Elderly, Darlene Mosier and the Summit View Staff for their loving care of Mrs. Marler during her later years.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Central Church of Christ, 400 Vine St, Chattanooga, TN or to the charity of choice.
