Joe D. Vandergriff, 94, of Soddy Daisy died Wednesday, August 26, 2021 at his home. He was born March 3, 1927 in Soddy Daisy to the late Charles and Annie Vandergriff. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Vandergriff.
He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and of the Sheet Metal Workers Union #51. Mr. Vandergriff was an avid bowler and fisherman. He was a huge Tennessee Vols fan.
Survivors include his children, Greg (Robin) Vandergriff and Cheryl Dodson; grandchildren, Julia Reynolds, Josh (Claudia) Vandergriff, and Gregory Vandergriff, Jr., and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Tuesday, August 31 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Brother Alan Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11-2 Tuesday.
