John Robert Barnes, Sr, formally of Richmond VA, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2014 at the home of his sister Faye Jordan. A native of Chattanooga, he was the son of the late Edward Clyde and Caroline Barnes Brown . Growing up in Lookout Valley, he attended the Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church. John attended Berry School in Rome Georgia and graduated from King College with a BA Degree
He was Co-Founder of the Genik Corporation where he served as the Sales Engineer. John was active in the Gayton- Kirk Presbyterian Church in Richmond VA.
John was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy Rauh Barnes and second wife Ruth Bryant Bear Barnes; and a son Mike Barnes
John is survived by his son John Robert Barnes Jr and wife Pattie of Chicago Il Four grandchildren John , Alan, Ryan and Julie; five great grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Jenna, Emilee and Dax; two sisters Faye Jordan of Chattanooga, TN and Charlotte Henderson and husband Bill of Ringgold GA; several nieces and nephews
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at the family plot in Burgess Cemetery, Browns Ferry Road Lookout Valley
