OBITUARY
John Esker Catlett Jr.
September 25, 1927 – June 16, 2022

John E. Catlett, Jr, 94, of Hixson, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was a member of Manchester Park Church of Christ.
John was a military veteran, having served in both the Air Force and Navy. After a long career in the US Postal Service, he retired in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Minnie Catlett and his wife, Peggy Hays Catlett. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Anderson; son, Steve (Karen) Catlett; grandchildren Rebecca Porter (Caleb), John Anderson, Natalie Catlett (Chris), Alex Catlett, Lauren Ladd (Tyler), Taylor Garner (Derek); three great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the hard working and caring staffs at Erlanger Baroness Hospital in Chattanooga, Caris Healthcare in Knoxville and West Hills Health and Rehabilitation. Caring neighbors, Kathy and Raymond, Andy and Kelly and a dear mail carrier, Colleen, were all impactful in John’s happiness and the family appreciates their love and concern.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10 am – 11 am at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 11 am with the Reverend Johnny Owens officiating. Burial will be held at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.
