John worked for the Chattanooga Times Free Press for 46 years, retiring as President and CEO from their printing company Target Graphics Inc in 2000.
He served in the Tennessee National Guard.
John is preceded in death by his parents J. T. and Lela Hoodenpyle
John is survived by his wife Sieglinda; daughter Karin Coulter; grandchildren Ben and Holly Coulter; sister Dr. Bettye (Bob) Martin-Davies.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 28 from 6-8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel
A private graveside service will be on Thursday, August 29
