Dear June and Family, you all are in our thoughts and prayers. We will always cherish the memories and the wonderful times that we shared with you and John, as we served together in the Pikeville community. You both were a positive influence on our lives and our ministry and we're sure others as well. Love and Prayers, Barry and Glynda Sarver

So sorry for your loss. John will fit into Heaven as an asset as he has fit into family and friends' lives on this earth.

I remember our long ago friendly competition for president of Stuart Heights pool association. (We both should have served,!). He was a true gentleman and cherished friend, and will be missed here and welcomed up there! We missed the service because we both are under the weather, but slowly improving.
Love to all,
Irby & Sara Hartley

I will always remember Uncle John, towering over me big as life saying with that HUGE WARM SMILE ON HIS FACE “there she is come here and give me a hug”. You were just sure you would break in half in the process, he was such a warm caring man. If hugs had been contagious I think he could have single handedly caused world peace.
I had the blessing to see him one or two more times while he and Aunt June were together in assisted living, nothing had changed, he still wanted his “hug.”
He was a dear man, he loved God, life, loved and wanted the best for his family and Aunt June so very much. Rest well Uncle John, we are all right behind you and you will have a lot of hugs to catch up on. OOOOO Dana

Am so sorry for your loss. Altho I did not know John I knew June quite well growing up and know that he was a good man since he picked a good woman for his wife. Thoughts and prayers go with you, June and family.

It was a genuine honor, privilege, and joy to serve with John in both the Navy and TVA. He was certainly a gentleman who loved God, his country, his family and his shipmates. In both of his careers, John earned the accolade "Well done, good and faithful servant." The Lord bless John and keep him in His loving care!
