John Floyd Ward, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2014
He passed away peacefully at his home in Hixson, Tennessee. John served in the military private first class form 1953 to 1955 with a honorable discharge. He retired from DuPont after 29 years and he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Hixson.
John’s enormous personality, wealth of selflessness, friendly smile and sense of humor will be sadly missed but never forgotten by his family and all who knew him.
John Is preceded in death by his wife Mildred Faye Ward; two sons Gary Ward and Timmy Ward; a granddaughter Heather Ward and his parents
John is survived by two sons Randy Ward, wife Mechelle and David Ward, wife Renee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 5 – 8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 10 until the time of service
Funeral service for John will be conducted at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Curtis Henderson officiating
Interment to follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
