Mr. John "Bob" Robert Willard

John Robert "Bob" Willard, 78, passed away on September 9, 2021. Born June 9, 1943 in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of Ted and Goldie Willard. In 1946 he and his family moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bob graduated from Chattanooga "City" High School in 1961, attended MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, served six years in the National Guard, and spent his career with DuPont retiring in 2002. He was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church. Bob was very friendly, had a great sense of humor, and was known for his laughter. He wanted to be remembered for those things and for making people smile. He was so loved by family and special friends and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Richard Allen "Rick" Willard. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sandra Moore Willard; son Brian Douglas Willard; grand children Micah, Brendan, and Marissa Willard, all of Chattanooga; and sister Betty (Ed) Jaekle of Naples, Florida. A funeral service at North Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday, September 14th at 11:00 am with Rev. Royce Powell officiating. Visitation will take place Monday, September 13th from 6 - 8 pm. The family respectfully requests that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
