Mrs. Johnnie Opal Jones

Johnnie Opal Jones, 93, of Chattanooga was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 2010.

She was born on June 23, 1917 to the late John Clark and Pearl Bain Clark of Rockwood, TN.

Opal was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. The church continued to minister to her while she was homebound and at the Nursing Home. She also, especially enjoyed the Jolly Elders, singing and dancing.

Opal was from a large family and loved her sisters and brother. They all preceded her in death, Maude Nuckles, Ann Short, Reba Hall, Cecil Kelsey, Edith Brock, Agatha Sowell, Arnold (Bud) Clark, Billy Arrington, Baby Wanda Jean; husband, of over 50 years, Albert Jones.

Survivors include her four sons, Gary (Jean) Jones of Cleveland, Jim (Diane) Jones of East Brainerd, Randy (Debbie) Jones of Hixson, Steven Jones of Chattanooga; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the North Chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2010 and on Friday from noon until the time of the service at the North Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Health Care at Standifer Place for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Johnnie.
