J. MABRE ARMSTRONG, Retired Educator. Mr. Armstrong was a Christian and a patriot. He was a veteran of WWII. He held a Master’s Degree from the University of Tennessee and had been a teacher, supervisor, principal and director of educational programs.
For six years he taught off-campus classes in management and development for UT. In earlier years, Mabre was a master printer and lino-type operator. He was an accomplished writer, an artist and a talented musician.
Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his wife, M. Dale Williamson Armstrong, his son Gary Armstrong, and his son Charles Armstrong.
He is survived by his son Randy, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 9 from 11:00 am to 12 noon immediately followed by a service at noon at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel.
Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
