Joseph was born in Valley Park, Missouri and was a longtime resident of the Hixson area. He was a graduate of Hixson High School and played on their first football team. He was a former pilot with civil Air Patrol. Joseph retired from DuPont Corporation after 34 years of service. He was a member and usher at Hixson United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Carrie Wolfe and son, Joseph Tracy Wolfe.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Barker Wolfe; daughter, Karen Lieberum and her husband Larry; two grandchildren, Kevin and Katy Lieberum; brother, Thomas Wolfe and his wife Patsy; several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel.
Services for Joseph will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the North Chapel with Reverend Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
