Joyce Case Ingle

June 18, 1928April 27, 2021

Joyce Case Ingle, 92, affectionately known as “Mimi” to her family and “Jingle” to many friends, passed away surrounded by her children on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Joyce graduated high school in Savannah, GA. She attended The University of Georgia, and graduated from The University of Chattanooga, and later trained as a Medical Technologist working several years for Drs. Jones and Ruffner.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Perry Ingle, Sr., owner of Ingle-Knox Insurance Agency, and her parents, Ethel Dixon Case and Jules Alexander Case.

Joyce is survived by her children, Dr. Robert Perry Ingle, Jr. (Ginger), Julie Ingle Daniel (Blake), and Mark Case Ingle, Sr. (Kim) and her eight adoring grandchildren, Mark Case Ingle, Jr., Robert Alexander Ingle (Chelsey), Meredith Ingle Trautschold (Brian), Elizabeth Fair Twitty (Hunter), Caroline Ingle Lewis (Ben), Emily Daniel Hodge (Dean), Greyson Ann Ingle, Robert Joseph Daniel, and seven great grandchildren. Joyce is also survived by two brothers, John A. Case (Linda), and Carl Bruce Case (Marsha) along with several nieces and nephews.

Faith and family were a constant in Joyce’s life. A life-long member of First Centenary United Methodist Church, she and Robert were charter members of the YOMACO (young married couples) Sunday School Class and later she attended The Morgan Class. For many years, Joyce was an active member of First Centenary’s Altar Guild sharing her gift to help create beautiful floral arrangements. She spent time volunteering at The Ronald McDonald House and The Houston Antique Museum. Always one to stay busy, she enjoyed golf, bridge with long-time friends, gardening, traveling and walking. Joyce was an avid reader and rarely missed an evening with Jeopardy. “Mimi” never missed an opportunity to support a grandchild’s special event, and she especially looked forward to Grandparents’ Day at each child’s school. With a beautiful touch, she created a warm and welcome home where family gathered for many holiday celebrations.

There will be no visitation at the church or funeral home.

A service will be held at First Centenary United Methodist Church on Friday, April 30, at 11 am with Pastor Mark Gooden officiating. Followed by a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to First Centenary United Methodist Church.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Morning Point of Hixson, especially Robin and Sarah for their loving care.

If you aren’t comfortable in attending the service you may join us live for the service at

We respectfully request that "social distancing", wearing masks at all times, and all CDC measures be followed at the church and cemetery.

Joyce has been a source of inspiration to me since I met her in the 1980's. I am grateful to have had her friendship. Thank you for making this service available via live stream. It was meaningful to be a part even though not there in person. My prayers are with you.
