Judith "Judy" Allen Hicks

Judy was the beloved wife of Robert “Wayne” Hicks, her loving partner throughout life. Wayne remained her constant companion, and their bond was a testament to commitment and grace until the very end.

She was raised in North Georgia and a graduate from Lakeview High School. She later settled in the Chattanooga area, where she earned her degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and raised her family. She retired from Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel after a successful career as a Certified Public Accountant.

Faith was central to Judy’s life. A devoted member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and supported the children’s choir. Music—through singing and piano—was one of the ways she expressed her love for the Lord.

Among her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. Leaving behind her son, Paul “Wes” Hicks (Brandi), and daughter, Rachel (Hicks) Henegar; grandchildren, Jeorgia (Hicks) Rose (Justin), Gunnar Hicks, and Alyssa Henegar; and her great-grandchild, Baker Rose. Her love extended beyond her immediate family to her nephews and extended relatives, each dearly cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noie “Slim” Allen and Lorene Allen; her sister, Noetta (Allen) Westbrook; brother-in-law, Jim Westbrook; and her son-in-law, Brian Henegar.

The family gratefully acknowledges Hospice of Chattanooga and Kim’s Caregivers for their kindness, care, and support; and extends heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated individuals who cared for Judy with such compassion and dignity.

Though deeply missed, Judy’s love and influence remain with all who knew her.

The family will be gathering and sharing memories with friends and family from 11 am until 3 pm on Saturday, May 2, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
