Judy Mai Duke

Judy was a graduate of Hixson High School. She lived most of her life in Hixson, TN before moving to Signal Mountain.

Judy was a quiet and gentle soul. She had such a peace and tenderness about her, always making people around her feel supported and loved. She never missed an opportunity to help, and would show up for anyone in need, providing the calm and stillness that people often needed in the moment.

Judy had the voice of an angel and we know Heaven was welcoming her into their chorus to sing along side the angels. Judy was a long time member of Song of Atlanta, joining them shortly after high school, and then went on to become a member and sing with the Scenic City Chorus. Her greatest passion was barbershop music where her personality would shine in the bass section.

She was an avid lover of animals and nature, and had a true compassion for rescues of any kind. She loved being in nature, traveling to see the colors of the seasons, and spending time in the woods where she was happiest with her animals.

Judy’s gentle spirit and her loving heart will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who loved her dearly. She truly was the picture of what we hope to be, and her legacy of love and kindness will live on through her family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Raymond Eugene Duke and Mary Curtis Duke, and her brother; Michael Eugene Duke.

Those left to honor her memory are her brother Charles Richard (Michelle) Duke; Sister in Law, Diane Wooten; Nephews, Michael Duke, Curtis Duke (Danielle); Niece Lindsay Duke; and many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be at 6:00 PM Sunday February 18, 2024 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with visitation for family and friends beginning at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials made to the Humane Education Society, 4155 Randolph Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37406 or you may send a potted plant to the family.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
