Kenneth was a member of the United States Marine Corps and retired from the United States Post Office with 38 years of service, and a past president of the American Postal Workers Union.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, James Lamar and Printha Ann Huskey Pettyjohn.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Christopher Lamar Pettyjohn, daughters, Paige (David) Pettyjohn Robbins from Hot Springs, AR, Allison (Bartley) Pettyjohn Jenkins from Dandridge, TN, sisters, Jennifer (James) McDaniel from Signal Mtn, Ann Brown from Signal Mtn, Rebecca (Dale) LeVally from Soddy Daisy, TN, Brother, James Rex Pettyjohn from Rising Fawn, GA, grandchildren, Meghan Bessling, Blake Robbins, Micah Robbins, and Cooper Jenkins ; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at the North Chapel and Monday, April 8 from 9am until 2pm.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 8 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Steven Granger officiating.
