She was born in Blue Island, IL on July 9, 1930. She and Harold moved to Chattanooga in 1976. They were both volunteers at Memorial Hospital, The Red Cross and The Red Cross Disaster Team for many years.
Laverne was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Gertrude Santeford; husband, Harold Bultema; twin sister, Lorraine Bultema; sister, Phyllis Thomas; and grandson, Jason Bultema.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Joyce Littlefield; son, Rick Bultema and his wife, Linda; son, Bruce Bultema and his wife, Patti; son, Gary Bultema; brother, Lawrence Santeford, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 2:30 pm. Laverne will be entombed in Hamilton Memorial Gardens Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
