He attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and graduated with his degree in pharmacy. Lew worked many years for Xerox corporation where he was a very successful salesman but later returned to a career as a pharmacist until retiring at the age of 70.
It was at the University of Georgia where he met his wife Drue. They were married for 68 years. Lewis and his wife, Drue, were the proud parents of son, Andy Hudson (Tammy deceased) of Chattanooga, Tenn., and daughter, Amanda (Tony Metcalf) of Monterey, Tenn.
Lewis and Drue lived for a number of years on Signal Mountain, outside of Chattanooga, Tenn., where they enjoyed the company of the “committee” as they referred to their close friends on the mountain. They enjoyed travel cruises and he and Drue experienced many of the world’s most famous sites in China, Egypt, Europe, Russia and the Pacific. When not traveling abroad, fall Saturdays were always reserved for cheering on their beloved Georgia Bulldogs.
Lew was an active and long-time parishioner of St Augustine Catholic Church on Signal Mountain and later at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy Daisy.
He will be missed by family and friends.
Services for Lew will be private and held at a later date.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
