Linda Irene “Granny” Ellis, 95, of Chattanooga died Friday, August 14, 2023. She was born on August 18, 1930, in Chattanooga to the late George Wright and Minnie Belle Smith Wright. She was a member of Hixson United Methodist Church. She was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross at Northpark Hospital.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years. Jack Wiley Ellis, siblings, Walter Wright, Henry Wright, Marvin McGhee, Georgia Green, and Calvin McGhee.
Survivors include her sons, George (Victoria) Ellis, and Michael (Alice), three grandchildren, Michelle Cunningham, David Ellis, and Alan Ellis, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 Friday, August 21, Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Red Cross.
