Lorene O. Grider

Lorene was born in Chattanooga to the late Joe and Fronia Owens. She retired from Brock Candy Company with over 47 years of service. Lorene attended Lupton Drive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Grider; three brothers, Ralph, J.R., and Lamar Owens.

Lorene is survived by her son, Raymond “R. L.” (Carol) Grider; grandchildren, Kelli (Ric) Whaley and Gary (Jennifer) Grider; great grandchildren, Taylor and Nic Grider; 102 year old sister, Minnie Duggan and a brother, Corkey Owens.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, November 5, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Lorene will follow at 1 pm on Thursday at the North Chapel with Reverend Dustin Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Center, 605 Glenwood Ave., suite 100, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
