She was a long-time member of Taft Highway Church of Christ and an active member of the Lone Oak Community for many years before retiring to Lake Tansi in Crossville, Tennessee. Lorene enjoyed a career teaching in the local Head Start program and helped manage the family’s local restaurant business in Chattanooga. In her later years, she spent most of her time as a homemaker, loving her family and cultivating her passion for wild-flowers and beautiful landscapes.
Lorene lived her life vibrantly and to the fullest. She was a kind, compassionate and happy soul who fully trusted in the Lord to care for and guide her path. She will be missed by so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Pritchard and Ernest Pritchard; husbands, William ‘Bill’ Potter and Harold Owen, Jr; and three siblings, Helen Ferguson Edwards, Winfred Pritchard, and Ernest Pritchard, Jr.
Lorene is survived by six children, three step-children, one sister, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, October 21, 2021, and from 10:30am-12pm on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the funeral home, followed by a chapel service at 12:00 pm with Clint Henley and Darrell Wyke officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to express its gratitude for two of her special friends and neighbors as well as Hospice of Chattanooga for caring for her.
The family respectfully requests that social distancing, wearing masks, and all CDC measures be followed at the funeral home and cemetery.
