

Lula Dobbins Bennett, 95, of Hixson passed away, Monday, March 6, 2017. She was born November 17, 1921 in Sand Mountain, Alabama to the late James Walter and Arrie McBrayer Dobbins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yeaman Bennett; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Goff; five brothers and one sister. She was an excellent fudge maker.
Mrs. Bennett was retired from DuPont. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 310. She was a past matron, and a member of ASEBI Court #36 of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America. She was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Goff and his wife Kay and Gene E. Goff; brother, Charles Dobbins and his wife Peggy; grandchildren, Gregg Goff and his wife Ginger, Dee Ward and her husband Steven and Cynthia Phillips; five great grandchildren, Gregory Goff, Steven Ward, Taylor Ward, Justin Phillips and Trevor Phillips; two great great grandchildren, Kailbe Phillips and Ryder Phillips.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, March 10 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Shannon of Hixson First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Eastern Star members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-7 Thursday.
The family would especially like to thank Morning Pointe Hixson and Soddy Health Care for all their kindness and care.
