He worked in the dental supply business in sales and management for 45 years. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Sadie Mae Brewster Sunday School Class.
Petey was a an avid golfer, and played regularly, even past his 90th birthday. He has several hole-in-one’s to his credit. He was a member of the Old Meadow Lake Golf and Country Club and was a charter member of the Rivermont Golf and Country Club.
Petey was also a major supporter of the UT Vols football team and the Lady Vols basketball team. During the summer, he pulled for the Atlanta Braves.
In his later years, he and his wife Polly enjoyed being around their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors are his son, Robert Perry (Betty) Wilkerson of Kimball, TN; two granddaughters, Katherine (Chris) Ford, Jamie (Andrew) Crawford, two great granddaughters, Presley Mae Ford and Perry Drew Crawford, and a great grandson, Townes Wilkerson Ford all of Knoxville, TN.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 pm Friday, April 13, at the North Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, April 14, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Cynthia Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
