Margaret Irene Hughes Allison, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25th, 2020 after a lengthy illness. Margaret fought a long and courageous battle with Dementia and Parkinson’s for many years.
Margaret graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Wallace on August 31st of that same year. Margaret was primarily a stay-at-home Mom and worked odd jobs throughout her life. Being at home with her children was her primary focus and her most important job. She lived most of her life in and around Chattanooga, TN and Trenton, GA, except for 8 years in Memphis, when her husband was transferred there.
Margaret is survived by her 2 sons, Mark and Eric (Kathy), 2 grandsons Daniel (Kelsey) and Matthew (Alyssa) and 2 great grandchildren, Micah and Abel. She is also survived by her brother Ulyss Ausbin Hughes, Jr (Anna Ruth), his family and a host of nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Allison, her father, Ulyss Ausbin Hughes, Sr. and her mother, Grace Bankston Hughes.
The funeral service will be a graveside (only for family members, due to the current COVID-19 crisis) at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to any organization that fights against Parkinson’s or Dementia or to the charity of your choice, in her memory.
