

Margaret was the root of her family. She was a very strong, compassionate, loving and giving person. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. Margaret retired from DuPont Corporation with over 35 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Buddy Higgins and George A. Pierce; a sister, Charlotte Garner; and a very special friend, Jack Walker, Sr.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marianne Eaves Smith. She was the grandmother and mother to Richard Michael Eaves, Nancy (Phil) Eaves Pierce and Lisa Ann Eaves; eight great grandchildren, Michele Griswold, Atira and Chase Eaves, Phillip, Rebecca and Jimmy Pierce, Emily (Billy) Foster and Sheena Heck; three great great grandchildren; siblings, June Jordan, Joyce (Ken) Varner, Dorothy Hodgkins and Donald (Martha) Long; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 1 PM on Friday at the North Chapel. Services for Margaret will follow the visitation at 1 PM on Friday at the North Chapel with Rev. Fred Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Phillip and Jimmy Pierce, Geoffrey Coleman, Billy Foster, Chase Eaves and Steve Kelley serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dive, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or Hospice of Chattanooga, P. O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
