MARGARET BEAN WOODS passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 4, 2019 in Chattanooga, Tennessee at the age of 79. She is survived by her children Jan (Pete) Massengale and Bart (Ann) Woods, sister Jean (Bobby) Osborne, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Kenneth Maynard Woods, her mother Maimie K. Bean, father John Henry Bean, and one child.
Margaret Woods was born on June 4, 1939 in Stevenson, Alabama. She graduated from Red Bank High School in 1957. She married her husband Kenneth Maynard Woods on January 28, 1961. She was devoted to her family and a devout Christian. Her children remember her as a loving mother and home-maker. She was “Nans” to all who loved her.
A funeral is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor William Gamble officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12 pm until 2 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Margaret’s life.
