

Marie Caldwell, age 93, passed away peacefully at her daughter Sandra's home in Roxboro, North Carolina on Thursday May 26. She was born December 28, 1928 in Hancock County, Tennessee and completed the ninth grade of formal education in Sneedville, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father: Lawrence A. Daniels, mother: Elizabeth Rhea Daniels, special friend: Jack Steele, two brothers: Herbert A. Daniels and Harold R. Daniels, two sisters: Gladys Ramsey and Nell Schofield, and a granddaughter Wynde Delayne Stone.
She is survived by her five children: Danny L. Seal (Shirley), Eddie M. Seal (Rita), Sandra M. Seal (Dan), Larry C. Seal, and Deborah Lynn Seal, fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and nineteen great-great-grandchildren.
She was mama, grandma, second mom, aunt, and friend to many who loved her dearly. She loved cooking and was an excellent cook due in part to starting, as a young girl, cooking for her siblings while her mother was away at work. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and crocheting. She was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order Of Eagles. She placed her faith in Jesus Christ who said, "Because I live, ye shall live also".
A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held in the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday June 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
