Mrs. Marlene J. Mathys went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 3, 2022. Marlene was born in West Palm Beach, FL. She was raised in Lake Worth where she graduated from Lake Worth High School. For many years, she was a church and pastors secretary. She was a member of Hixson First Baptist Church.
Marlene enjoyed things such as the mountains, tv news and game shows, the beach, the smell of flowers, holidays and spending time with her family. She married her high school sweetheart on June 17, 1967 and they have been inseparable ever since.
Those left to cherish her memory include Charles Mathys, husband of 55 years; son, Scott Mathys (Jackie); son, Mark Mathys (Brittanny); 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7th from 4-7 pm and Wednesday from 1-2 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Wednesday in the funeral Home chapel with Rev. Terry Shannon officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
