Mary Catherine Elmore Billingsley

Catherine was a graduate of Bradley County High School and Edmondson Business College. She worked in an airplane factory during World War II as a riveter and was employed with Chattanooga Gas Company. Catherine was a longtime member of Hickory Valley Christian Church and its Leaders - Bykota Classes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John R. Billingsley, Jr.; parents, Ben and Mary Elmore; sisters, Marie Fortenbery and Evelyn Elmore; brothers, Austin, Ben, Ralph, Sherman, and C.L. Elmore; many nieces and nephews.

Catherine is survived by her children, Kay Olson, John R. III (Kay) Billingsley, and Steven D. (Jan) Billingsley; grandchildren, Nathan Olson and Jason (Kerri) Olson, Kaitlin (Eddie) Christopher, Kindall, and Kaleb (Megan) Billingsley, Andrew and Evan Billingsley; 2 great grandchildren, John and Leila Olson; several nieces and nephews.

The family respectfully request that social distancing, wearing masks, and all CDC measures be followed at the funeral home and cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 17, and 1:30 to 2:30 pm on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 on Friday at the North Chapel with Reverend Dale Lovelady officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 10 am.
