Mary was a sweet and loving soul who gave much while never asking for anything in return. No matter what life offered, she would always persevere and never complained. Being a good mother was her highest priority and nurturing and supporting her children was her true passion. The team hair-braider during her daughter’s softball games, if asked, she would have braided the hair of the opposing team as well. She loved animals, including a true fondness for horses. She was happiest while riding, and often bareback of course. From tennis with the Robinsons to Rummikub at family gatherings to designing three different homes, she was very talented and she was a true friend to all who knew her.
Mary fought hard to stay on this earth, but we all know she will be riding a wild horse bareback through the gates of heaven. 🐎In life, she was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother, S. P. and Minnie Lee West, her oldest brother, Sammy West Jr., and her late husband Bill Bornhoeft.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Magee; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Allison and Orlando Gonzalez of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Erin Bornhoeft of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lindsey and Craig Harris of San Antonio, Texas; her brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Yong Mi West of Hendersonville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Baylee Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, Libby Harris, and Mary Lillian Harris, as well as numerous other family and friends.
