Mary Ann was retired from J. C. Penney’s. She was a longtime member of Calvary Bible Church where she played the piano. Mary Ann was Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and served on the Tennessee Order of the Eastern Star. She loved doing Needlepoint, playing the piano, making costume jewelry, watching the Atlanta Braves and was currently known as the “Puzzle Lady” at Senior Saints. Mary Ann loved NASCAR!!
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Robert and Lucille Bruce; her husband of 44 years, “Roy” L. Stansberry; son, Bruce Dobbins; great grandson, Ryan Campbell and two grandsons, Shane and Gary Magin, Jr.; one and only brother, Edward Bruce.
Mary Ann is survived by her children, Vance A. (“Shrimp”) Dobbins, III, Brenda (Mike) Blevins, Kay (Gary) Magin, Alyn (Amy) Stansberry and Keli (Tim) Robbins-Price; sister-in-law, Judy Bruce; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
Mary Ann loved the color purple and the family has asked if possible, that you wear the color purple to her visitation and service.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm on Thursday, November 7, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Mary Ann’s life will follow at 3 pm on Thursday, at the North Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
