

Mary Ann had been employed for 20 years as Dietician at the Grace Church of the Nazarene Day Care and also had worked at The Leader Department Store. She also assisted her husband in their business, Tommy Ward Cement Finishing Company. She was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene, where she worked in the nursery, vacation bible school serving refreshments, children’s church and ladies ministry.
Mary Ann was a Volunteer with the American Red Cross, a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader, member of the Military Family Club and Brunswick Bowling League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Ward, grandson, Tommy Downey, father, Omer Virgil Creswell, mother and step-father, Lucille P. and Robert R. Vaughn, sister, Ella Sue James and two brothers, John W. and Robert B. Creswell.
Survivors are sons, Thomas Joe (Sherron) Ward, William “Billy” Richard (Karen) Ward, daughters, Wanda W. (David) Martin, Martha Jean Downey, grandchildren, Angie (Dennis) Trusty, Stacy (Mike) Hinds, Rick Martin, Vicky (Crandall) Caughman, Thomas Ward, Deborah Ward, Jennifer Moore, Jeremy Moore, Jessica Ward and Spencer Ward, seven great grandchildren, brother, Franklin D. Creswell, and Virginia (Gene) Guice, whom she raised as her own, and their children, Walt Guice and Kathy Guice.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 pm Saturday at the North Chapel.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Sunday, May 20, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Richard Floyd officiating. Burial will be at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
