Born in Chattanooga to the late Floyd and Martha Hicks. She was retired from Baylor School and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Lookout Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Henderson; and a grandson, Andrew Henderson.
Monnie is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Jim) Ashley, Cathy (Johnny) Allen, Teresa (Todd) Bradley and Rhonda (Steve) Wells; 12 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; siblings, Maurice (Maynell) Hicks, Melvin (Cecilia) Hicks, David Hicks, Rick (Mary) Austin and Barbara (Kenneth) Seale; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 pm on Saturday, April 6, and 1 to 3 pm on Sunday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life service for Monnie will follow at 3 pm on Sunday at the North Chapel with Pastor Tracy Mantooth officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
