Monty Morris Matney

He was a retired engineer with Norfolk Southern, also a volunteer with the National Park Service in the trail division. He was a member of the Tyner Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents James E. (Chick) and Ruth (Ramey) Matney of Elkhorn City, Ky. and his sister Diana Ruth Matney Hamilton of Pikeville, Ky.

He is survived by his devoted brother and sister-in-law James D. (Jim) & Linda Matney of Ooltewah, Tn., his nephews Brian Matney of Harrison, Tn. and Mark Matney of Ooltewah, Tn., brother-in–law Gary (Charlene) Hamilton, niece Dena (Clayton) Snodgrass, great nephew and niece Coty and Gracie Snodgrass of Pikeville, Ky., longtime friend\brother Bill Bailey of Sale Creek, Tn. and longtime girlfriend Cyndi Collins of Harrison, Tn.

Visitation will be Monday, May 08, 2017 from 4p.m. – 8p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at Tuesday, May 09, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Minister John Cupp officiating.
