She was born in Lupton City, a graduate of Hixson High School and was a longtime resident of the Whitwell area. Odean was an active member of First Baptist Church in Whitwell and was formerly employed with Dupont and Signal Knitting Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Christian; daughter Cynthia Christian Plyler; parents, Arthur and Octavia Humphries.
Odean is survived by her daughter, Donna Christian McConnico; granddaughter, Jamie McConnico both of Hixson and sister, Maxine Humphries North of Rossville, GA;
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday at 10 to 11 am on Thursday at the North Chapel.
Services for Odean will be held at 11 am on Thursday at the North Chapel with Reverend Buddy Strickland and Edwina Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Odean’s name to Summit View Senior Living Community or First Baptist Church of Whitwell.
