Patricia "Patty" Pitts Allen

Patricia “Patty” Pitts Allen, of Hixson, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013. She was 83 years old.

She was a native of Daisy, Tennessee but spent many years living abroad. Patricia lived in Washington, DC, Brussels, Belgium, Okinawa, England, Australia, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Port Charlotte, Florida before returning home to Chattanooga in 2004.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Merrill Allen; her parents, Haynes and Edna Pitts.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Murlee Allen Miller and Barbara Allen Allison; four grandchildren, Jamie (Rebecca) Meagher, Adam, Ashley and Ashton Allison; three great grandchildren, Finley Meagher, Christian and Emma Hernandez; siblings, Mary Elizabeth Simpson, Jean Thomas, Buddy Pitts and Judy (Harvey) Medearis; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, June 28, and 10 to 11 am on Saturday, June 29 at the North Chapel.

Graveside services for Patricia will follow at 11 am on Saturday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, Masonic Gardens with Chaplain Jym Hitte officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Wellington Place and Caris Healthcare for the love, compassion and care given to Mrs. Allen.

The family would like to suggest memorial contributions be made in Patricia’s name to Caris Healthcare at 5959 Shallowford Road, suite 551, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.

Murlee,Barbara and family. My deepest sympathy to you all. I know I have lost contact through the years from my moves, but have never forgot you as my family. I would love to know how to contact you. I am sorry but I won't be able to make the Memorial Service for Aunt Pat, but I will be thinking of you all during this sad time and will be praying for you.
