Polly was a graduate of City High School and a member of Northside Presbyterian Church for many years. She was a devoted health care giver who enjoyed cooking and baking for people in the nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Martin, Sr. and Violet Martin; brother and sister-in-law, George and Edith Martin and brother, John Martin, Jr.; nephew, Richard Martin and nephew-in-law, Jack Grant.
Polly is survived by her nieces and nephews, Polly Ann (Rick) Thompson, Joy Grant, Lynn (Bobby) Crantford, Jack (Susie) Martin, Pat Lawhorn, Joanne (Bill Toop) Martin, Bob Martin, Nancy (Pat) Neuhoff, Susan (Robert) Blasius, Pam (Joe) Franklin and several great nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at Chattanooga Memorial Park on Tuesday, September 24, at 2 p.m. with Reverend John Allen officiating.
The family would like for memorial contributions be made in Polly’s name to Bethel Bible Village, 3001 Hamill Road, Hixson, TN 37343.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
