Mr. Philip Michael Kazemersky

Philip Michael Kazemersky departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the age of 70. Philip was born in Derby, Connecticut on September 22,1947 to Tanya and Eugene Kazemersky. He graduated from Ansonia public schools and Worchester Polytechnic Institute where he received a degree in electrical engineering. Philip continued his education by attending Ohio State where he received a masters is mathematics and a PhD in nuclear engineering. Philip moved to Tennessee to work for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). After 18 years working for TVA he retired to take a teaching position at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Philip was a tenured professor teaching in the engineering program until his retirement in 2017. Philip is survived by his wife, Judy and daughter, Dianne. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Alex, Violet and Talon along with a brother, Paul and sister, Mary and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly. Philip was loved and will be missed by all. Philip was an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343 from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, May 18. Funeral services will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday at 10:30 am. Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church is located at 722 Glenwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN, 37404. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Heart Association in memory of Philip Kazemersky. Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.

I feel fortunate to have known Phil and to have worked closely with him. I considered him a good friend. I will greatly miss him.
Sadly, there is no way for me to make it to the funeral. But, be assured that I will keep him and his family in my prayers.
