Phillip "Phil" Earl Burroughs, 73, went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2023 after a valiant battle with a long illness.
His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle, and ultimately gave him strength and peace.
Phil was born to Phillip and Edna "Susie". As he grew, he enjoyed playing football and developed a life long passion for the sport.
Phil met his wife, Shelley in 1983 in Chattanooga. They married in July of 1984 and went on to have two children, Brittany and Elizabeth.
From the very beginning, he loved and dedicated his children to God. He also encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels.
Throughout his life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with the medical staff helping to care for him, and all who surrounded him in the last months of his life.
Phil joins his father Phillip, grandmother Dolly, grandfather James, as well as many other family members and friends in Heaven.
He will be forever loved and forever remembered by his wife Shelley, his daughters Brittany and Elizabeth, his mother Edna "Susie", countless friends, and extended family who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
In lieu of flowers Phil and his family ask if you are able, to donate blood to the American Red Cross, and continue to pray for one another.
