Raymond "R. L." Grider

Raymond “R. L.” Grider, 79, of Hixson, passed away on March 16, 2023. “R. L.” was born in Chattanooga to the late John Raymond and Lorene Grider. He was a military veteran. “R. L.” was retired from both DuPont and Mars Candy Company. He was a longtime member and Deacon at Lupton Drive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenda K. Grider. “R. L.” is survived by his wife, Carol (Holtshouser) Grider; children, Kelli (Ric) Whaley and Gary (Jennifer) Grider; grandchildren, Taylor (Ross) Eller and Nic Grider; several cousins. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3:30 pm on Monday, March 20, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral services for “R. L.” will follow at 3:30 pm on Monday at the North Chapel with Pastors Dustin Taylor and Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
