Pete served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Foster Men’s Sunday School Class at Red Bank Baptist Church. He was retired from Olin Conductors and Unified Enterprise.
Pete is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lockie Payne Melton; daughters, Brenda (Jim) Mahoney of Chattanooga, Linda (Rick) Woods of Kingston, TN; grandsons, Chad (Dawn) White of Smyrna, TN, Shane (Susan) Woods of Oak Ridge, TN, and Dustin Woods of Knoxville, TN, great granddaughters, Lilliana and Abigail Woods of Oak Ridge, TN.
Services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 8, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Harvey, Dr. Fred Steelman and the Rev.Bert Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
