Retha R. Sells, 87, of Red Bank, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 1, 2018. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank and is currently a member of Bible Baptist Church in Hixson. She enjoyed reading and caring for children. She was a caring mother, granna, sister and friend that will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Maebell Narramore and her husband, Albert F. Sells, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Diane) Sells, Debbie Hobbs and Mike (Debra) Sells; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jason) Bearden, Shauna Mills, Krissy Hobbs, Jimmy (Katie) Hobbs, Tiffany (Justin) Alexander and Cristina (David) Richards; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Beulah (Gerald) Layne; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 3, and again on Thursday, October 4, from 12 noon to 1 pm at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Retha will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home with Pastor J. Michael Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made in Retha’s name to Bible Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1233, Hixson, TN 37343.
