He was born to Joe and Betty Turley August 21, 1948 in Jasper, TN. Rickey was a graduate of East Ridge High School where he played the trumpet in the school band. He spent his career as a truck driver and a guard for Shaw Industry. After retiring, he loved spending time with his dog, Daisy Maye, and his wife.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty Turley and his brother, James Turley.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Dorothy Jean Thompson Turley; son, Richard (Gina) Turley; step-daughter, Lesa A. Pittman; grandchildren, Eli Turley and Ryan Williams; and brother-in-law, Arvil Jessie.
A visitation for Rickey will be Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home – North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. The family will then follow to Hamilton Memorial Gardens for the committal.
