

Robert “Bob” Bauer, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully February 24, 2020. He was born in Chattanooga on August 21, 1932 and lived here most of his life. Bob graduated from Kirkman Technical School. After serving in the Korean War Bob brought his family back to Red Bank where they have lived for 63 years. He retired from the Air Force National Guard after 22 years and Combustion Engineering after 43 years. After retiring from Combustion he volunteered at Giant Steps Music for 20 years. He loved working on old cars and restored a 1941 Ford Pickup Truck and a 1971 Dodge Swinger. Bob loved to travel with the Holiday Rambler RV Club and was past president of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Chapter. He also volunteered at the TN Valley Model Railroad and the Boy Scouts. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Bauer.
Survivors are wife of 67 years, Dolores; son, Mike (Darleen); daughter, Suzy (Bob) Bailey; grandsons, Charley (Mandy), Andy, Corey Bailey; great-grandson, Noah Bailey.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 1 pm at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Air Force Honors being rendered.
