He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Navy. He joined the Navy after his graduation from High School. Following his military service he went to work for the City of Chattanooga as a Civil Engineer. Bob later joined the survey company of George Morton Engineer Company and then joined David Hopkins Engineer Company and later he worked for Cook and Spence Engineers Company. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest C. and Ida Amos Andrews; daughter, Lisa Andrews; two sister, Joan Pendergrass and Melba Lassater.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alma Ruth Moser Andrews; three sons, Tommy Andrews, Jr., Mark (Cathy) Andrews and Todd (Tina) Andrews; two daughters, Lynn (Jack) Jessmer and Kristy (Chris) Campbell; 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, September 2, at the North Chapel.
Services for Bob will be held at 12:30 pm, on Tuesday, September 3, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
