Bob was born September 3, 1934 to Ellis and Daisy Creswell in Boyd’s Creek, TN. He was the youngest of eleven children, born at his parent’s farm. He was the first child to attend college, The University of Tennessee, Knoxville specializing in Agriculture.
While stationed with the Army in the Pentagon, he met the love of his life Clioreta, his wife of 50 years, while she was serving as a Liaison to a 3-star General. Bob later found work at Dixie Bearings with his sister Margaret. This prompted him to opening his own Bearing Business which led to Creswell Industrial Supply in 1970. Creswell later acquired Richardson Electric, known today as Creswell Richardson. Over his monumental career he owned over 10 other companies. He was truly an entrepreneur.
Bob’s passions in life were faith, family, friends, and the Tennessee Vols. Mom and Dad cherished boating and the time spent with their family and friends on the “Seven C’s”. They took great joy in being a part of the Vol Navy and will be remembered for all the cheers and tailgates every Saturday. One of their most memorable trips was renting a Greyhound bus and taking 40 of their closest friends to the Sugar Bowl to watch Tennessee beat Miami. Bob loved his Vols.
Bob was a 32nd degree Mason and a lifetime member of both Red Bank Baptist Church and Valleybrook Golf and Country Club.
Bob is survived by his children, Suzanne, Tommy (Becky), Robbie (Tammy), and Greg (Susan). Grandchildren, Anna, Houston, Trent (Lucy), Justin, Lacy, Ally, Julia all of whom lovingly referred to him as “Daddy Bob”.
We would like to thank all of Dad’s many close friends, Doctor John Laramore and Sherri Glover, and his special friend Sandi. Also many thanks to his care givers which meant so much to him, Anna, Lauren, Haila, Kenzie, Aeryn, Chelsea and Hospice of Chattanooga.
