Roger was born on May 20, 1940 in Harriman, Tennessee. He was a longtime resident of the East Ridge area. Roger retired from U. S. Pipe. He was a member of The Crossing Chattanooga.
Roger is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley Giles; son, Jeff Giles; daughter, Cathey (Dallas) Whicker; grandson, Brandon (Kate) Whicker; granddaughter, Olivia Nicole (Nick) Pope; great grandchildren, Tagan Whicker, Gevi Whicker, and Conrad Pope.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, November 16, and 11 am to 12 pm on Friday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service for Roger will be held at 12 pm on Friday, at the North Chapel with Pastor Terry Harris officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
