

Rolena Tatem Ingram, 89, of Hixson, Tennessee passed away on June 17, 2017 in a local hospital. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga for fifty-eight years and the Waters Sunday School Class. Rolena worked at First Baptist Church for sixteen years as the educational and pastoral secretary and was well-known among her family and friends for being a gracious hostess. She and her husband traveled extensively in the U.S. and abroad with friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Margaret Tatem and husband, Frank Ingram. Survivors include three daughters, Susan (Tom) Thurman, Judy (Chip) Liner and Cindy (Dennis) Koltnow all of Chattanooga; five grandchildren, P.J. Koltnow, Amy Allen, Betsy Morris, Erin Thurman and Jim Thurman; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Joyce) Tatem, Kenneth Tatem, Alice (Jim) Warner, Eileen (Bob) Hof, and Dora Jean Maher and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services and a celebration of Rolena’s life will be held at the chapel of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, 401 Gateway Avenue, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402 at 1 pm on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 with Dr. Thomas Quisenberry officiating. The internment will be held privately at Chattanooga National Cemetery for the family. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2018 from 12 pm to 1 pm in the church parlor, adjacent to the chapel prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. The family wants to thank Morning Pointe of Hixson and the staff at the Lantern for their loving care.
